Andy Naranjo, University of Florida
While my research informs and improves my teaching, my teaching also enhances my research through classroom discussions and formulating course material. Over the last decade, my teaching focus has shifted almost entirely towards teaching graduate students across many of our graduate programs (e.g., Day MBAs, Professional MBAs, Masters of Finance, Masters in International Business, as well as working with students in our PhD, Post-Doctoral, and new DBA programs). Since 2000, I have taught over 3,500 graduate students across our various graduate programs and have served as a Chair, Co-Chair or member on 26 PhD student dissertations, 51 Masters Theses, and 67 undergraduate student Honors Theses, University Scholars Program or Independent studies. Teaching is very important to me. I have dedicated a significant amount of time and energy to my students, both inside and outside the classroom. My dedication to providing quality instruction has resulted in consistently high teacher evaluations and being honored with seven teaching awards. As a teacher, I provide rigorous courses and create an environment where students can become reflective and independent thinkers.
